Coast Barrel Aged Blackbeerd Returning on December 1

The latest installment of Coast Brewing Company’s Barrel Aged Blackbeerd is finally ready to hit the brewery after resting for 11 months in Blanton’s bourbon barrels. 2012 marks the 4th bottle release of the barrel aged variation on the South Carolina brewery’s popular imperial stout, and also proves to be the most plentiful to date.

From the brewery’s website:

“This batch was the largest amount of barrel aged Blackbeerd ever made (in years past the batch was split half barrels/ half straight up. This time an entire batch was barreled). Therefore, this is the biggest release, which means more to go around. And yes some will go to a few accounts around town too (starting next week)! Sweet.”

Barrel Aged Blackbeerd will be available starting on December 1 while they are open from 11am – 2pm for regular tours and tastings. $15 per 22 ounce bottle with no limit other than SC state law which allows people to purchase one case per person, per day. The brewery also expects regular Blackbeerd to be ready soon.

Previous barrel aged vintages of Blackbeerd were:

2009 – Jack Daniels

2010 – Buffalo Trace

2011 – Barrel Blend (50% Jack Daniels, 50% Buffalo Trace)

Coast Brewing is located at 1250 2nd St N in North Charleston, SC.
