Upcoming Summer Bottle Releases from Block 15

Block 15 Restaurant and Brewery is locked and loaded for three (yes, three) upcoming bottle releases this summer, starting on Saturday, June 1 at 10:30am. Alongside the monthly installment of Sticky Hands, the brewery is also unleashing a couple barrel-aged wild ales fresh from the cellar.

The details:

  • Bottle sales start at 10:30am on June 1 with regular service beginning at 11am
  • Sticky Hands Citrus Slam will be $8.50 per 750mL, limit 6 per person, with draft available on Friday
  • Enchantment is $8 per 375mL, limit 6 per person and only available at the pub

Future releases:

  • July 6: Sticky Hands Damn the Blends
  • August 3: Sticky Hands “Original with adjustments,” Golden Canary 2013, Ferme de la Ville Provisions 2013

Commercial descriptions:

Inspired by the art of vintage ale blending found in the Flanders region, Belgium. Enchantment is blend of oud bruins (old browns); 6-33 months matured in first and second use American oak bourbon barrels. Brewed into our open fermenter with a custom mix of brewer’s yeast, brettanomyces, and acid producing bacteria. This blend is a selection of five barrels from the program. Enchantment pours dark brown with magenta highlights and a thin fleeting off white head. The aromas and flavors show notes of cocoa, dried fruits, black cherries, oak and tobacco. Balanced acidity provides a vinous and refreshing finish. This is the same blend of Enchantment that was poured on draught this past February. 6.65% alc/vol, 13BU, 72 cases produced.

Sticky Hands Citrus Slam – This version of our hop experience ale project features a cornucopia of citrusy hops. Kettle additions of Apollo, Amarillo, Chinook & Cascade, and then double dry hopped with Sorachi Ace, Chinook, Cascade & Amarillo. Notes of grapefruit, oranges, and lemons with background floral and pine.

Golden Canary – A blend of sour Golden ales from our Wild cellar. Matured 4, 9, 14, & 20 months in Pinot Noir Oak Barrels with various strains of Brettanomyces (wild yeast), and acid producing bacteria’s Lactobacillus & Pediococcus. Pours a hazy gold notes of citrus, tropical fruit, barnyard, oak barrel and grapes. Wonderfully sour with a puckering finish.
