Deschutes Black Butte XXV Almost Here

Deschutes Brewery is ringing in their 25th anniversary with another Reserve Series release, as Black Butte XXV is set to debut in draft and 22oz bottles at the end of this month. This marks the sixth release in the Black Butte anniversary series, with each recipe containing its own set of unique ingredients.

XXV is an imperial porter brewed with dates, figs and cocoa nibs, with 50% aged in oak bourbon barrels for 6 months and 12.5% with black currants added.

Commercial description:

It’s our silver anniversary this year, and we’re celebrating 25 years in style. Every year, we make a huge double version of our flagship Black Butte Porter and our brewers tinker with the recipe with some complex ingredients in order to meaningfully commemorate what’s made the brewery great over the last couple decades: experimentation. Black Butte XXV is bourbon barrel aged and has some unique additions to ensure that this anniversary brew stands alone. Like all of our Reserve Series beers, we encourage you to drink one upon its release and put some away for later. Some things just get better with age!
