Hair of the Dog Matt and Otto Bottle Release October 11
More news out of the Hair of the Dog camp today, as the brewery is prepared to release two more bottles on Friday, October 11 at 10pm. Matt will make its third bottled appearance (the label above is from the original release when it was known as Bottleworks X), while Otto will be packaged for the first time after a couple appearances on tap in Portland, OR. Hair of the Dog is renowned for their high gravity, bottle conditioned, barrel-aged ales – some of which are among the best in the country (i.e. Adam from the Wood). Don’t sleep on this one if you’re lucky enough to be in the PNW.
- Bottles will be available for in-house tasting starting Thursday, October 10
- To-go sales begin on Friday, October 11 at 10pm
- Matt and Otto will be $15 per 12oz bottle or $300 per case (24 bottles)
- Limit 1 case of each per person
- “Both Beers have carbonation, Otto more so than Matt, but I think people will be happy with both.” – Alan Sprints
Matt was inspired by Matt VandenBerghe and Matt Bonney (Bottleworks and Brouwers in Seattle), who personify the spirit and dedication that has helped craft beer become the vibrant industry it is today. This Beer was originally Brewed to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Bottleworks, and will be released every few years from the Brewery. Matt is made with two Munich malts, two Smoked malts and two types of Belgian candy sugar. It is aged in Kentucky Bourbon and Apple Eau de Vie barrels from Clear Creek distilling. Matt is deep and lush with notes of apple, chocolate and smoke. Alcohol: 12.5% by volume.
Otto is a blend of barrel-aged Peach and Cherry Freds. 12% ABV
Hair of the Dog Brewing Company is located at 61 SE Yamhill Street in Portland.
