First Yazoo Embrace the Funk Bottle Coming Jan. 26

Yazoo-Brewing-CoNashville’s Yazoo Brewing Company is set to debut the first bottle in their Embrace the Funk series, Deux Rouges, on Sunday, January 26 at their taproom. If the name sounds familiar, you’re probably thinking of the Embrace the Funk blog, which chronicles  adventures in homebrewing, barrel-aging and all things sour ales, written by Yazoo brewer, Brandon.

Deux Rouges is a Flanders Red Ale aged in freshly emptied Merlot barrels for one year with wild yeast and souring bacteria. Check out the full story and pictures here.

The details:

  • Tickets will be handed out at 2pm
  • 150 winners will be chosen during a drawing at 3pm
  • Winners receive a numbered release day poster and can purchase up to 4 bottles per person
  • $25 per 750mL bottle
  • 600 bottles produced

The brewery also has a new dedicated bottling system for the wild and funky stuff, so expect to see “a few more” of these bottles throughout 2014.

Yazoo Brewing Company is located at 910 Division Street in Nashville, TN. Check them out here.
