Surly Darkness 2014 to be Barrel-Aged
Yes, it’s true. The anticipated label art for Surly’s famed Darkness imperial stout has surfaced across the internet this week, along with the mouth-watering little caveat of “barrel-aged stout” written on the label description. The brewery confirmed on Facebook yesterday that yes (you lunatics), Surly Darkness 2014 has been aged in rye whiskey barrels from High West Distillery.
Does this mean there will be less bottles? Apparently there will be “a lot,” so take that for what it’s worth. Darkness Day 2014 will be held on Saturday, October 25 at the brewery in Brooklyn Center, MN.
