Almanac Beer Co. Releases Truthful Statement

almanac-truthful-statementAlmanac Beer Co. has a new installment in their Farm to Barrel series ready for everyone, with Truthful Statement launching this month. Keep your eyes peeled!

Similar to other releases in the product line, this will be available in 375mL bottles and limited draft.

Commercial description:

This dark sour ale was inspired by classic Old Fashioned cocktails. We fermented a velvety imperial stout with our house sour culture, then aged it in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels alongside sweet Bing cherries and freshly zested oranges to create a rich, tart stout that’s perfect for sipping on cold winter nights. 9% ABV

Side Project Bière du Pays & Bretta Sang Release Dec. 19

A fresh pair of bottles are dropping from Side Project Brewing this weekend, featuring a new batch of Bière du Pays and the debut of Bretta Sang. The fun will go down at noon on Saturday, December 19 in the Perennial tasting room.

Bottles of Bière du Pays will retail for $20, with Bretta Sang going for $25. Similar to other Side Project releases, bottle limits will be determined based on turnout.

Bière du Pays is a table saison aged in Chardonnay bottles with Oude Fermier cultures, coming in at a mild 4% ABV. Bretta Sang was aged in puncheons for 10 months, using mixed-fermentation with sweet orange peel and blood orange juice.

Flossmoor Station Disco Wagon Sour Series #1 Bottle Release Dec. 3

This is a barrel-aged sour ale weighing in at 7% ABV, available for purchase in 22oz bottles. Pricing and limits are TBA.

This is a wild one, literally – American sour ale aged in sherry casks with boysenberries, raspberries, blackberries and cherries, coming in at 11% ABV.

Allagash Black Friday Release: James & Julie and Midnight Brett

allagash-black-friday-releaseA Black Friday extravaganza is going down at Allagash this holiday season, kicking off at 10am on Friday, November 27. Bottles of Midnight Brett and James & Julie will both be available, alongside live music, free coffee and donuts, special beers on tap and more. Shopping is for the birds, go drink some beer.

Bottle limits and pricing are TBA.

Commercial descriptions:

James and Julie: our take on a Flemish Sour Brown and offers an aroma of raisins, figs, cherries, and caramelized sugar. Mahogany in color, this medium bodied ale finishes with a clean acidity and a hint of spice. We brew this sour brown ale with Pilsner, Special B, Maize, and Chocolate Malt and ferment it with our house yeast strain. It then ages for two years on stainless steel with our own blend of Lactobacillus and Pediococcus cultures.

Midnight Brett: This beer gets its name from the Midnight Wheat we brew it with. The dark wheat gives it a deep, dark chocolate color. The aroma opens with fresh berries and sour cherries, and ends with a warm roastiness. Each sip offers smooth drinkability met with the zip of tart fruitiness on the palate. We brew this beer with 2-row, Midnight wheat, raw wheat, and rye malt. It’s hopped with a blend of Perle, Glacier, and Simcoe hops. We then add our house strain of local, wild Brettanomyces yeast. The yeast works its magic over the next eight months where the beer ferments in a stainless tank. Midnight Brett begs to be shared no matter the hour on the clock.

  • $15 per 750mL bottle
  • Limit 1 case per person

Commercial description:

Cuvee De Orange County is a saison/cider blend that has been aged in barrels that once held apple brandy, then cider, now our beer and was fermented with multiple strains of yeast and bacteria. We’ve been sitting on these barrels for over a year and a half! Cuvee is reminiscent of a dry and tart French cider with a touch of oak.
